Title: Crossover Isolation for DC Wiring Redux
Post by: phillymatt on November 11, 2013, 11:00:01 PM
This topic has been addressed many times in earlier posts, but the website by David Harrison which contained the solution is no longer available. Accordingly, I would greatly appreciate any explanation of where to make the necessary cuts/modifications to isolate two oval tracks connected by a #6 ez-track crossover and wired for dc.  Dcc is not an option as the intended users are young boys not yet responsible enough for more expensive equipment.

I know there is some reference to 4 cuts to copper connecting strips; however, I was hoping for more guidance and clarification as to what additional steps are required.

Thank you in advance for your time and courtesies.

I've been saying for years the instructions for doing the modification should be included in the box. Or better yet, the crossover should be redesigned with the gaps already in place and removable jumpers underneath to put it in DC mode.
