Title: New to model trains - Problem with Jingle Bell Express
Post by: Revbat on December 07, 2013, 09:28:14 PM
I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction

I recently purchase the Jingle Bell Express On30 train set, but I am having trouble with the locomotive.

It worked fine for one trip around the track and then stopped moving. The light still goes and I can hear the motor working, but no movement.

Can anyone direct me to any troubleshooting tips?

Or even the dis-assembly guide for this particular locomotive?

Thanks in advance!

OK, so I found some instructions on taking this apart and found my problem.

The gear on the axle of the drive wheels is cracked.

Can anyone point me as the the availability of a replacement gears?

If you bought this new from a dealer, take it back.   It is unusual for  the locomotive to have the cracked gear problem although other models did have this problem.
If not from a dealer, than you'll have to fix it yourself or send it in to Bachmann.
