Disconnect the two motor leads from the frame halves.
Install a DZ125 decoder in the loco according to the decoder instructions.
For sound, install metal wheels and pickups in the tender. Make a speaker hole in the bottom of the tender.
Install a 14mm x 25mm speaker in the tender.
Install a Tsunami Micro in the tender. Cost, around $90.00 I believe.
Bring six wires from the tender to the loco. Two for the headlight, two for the motor, two for pickups from the loco drivers.
I have done this but this is not for new DCC users. I did it a few years ago because I was retired and had plenty of time.
Bottom line, probably should forget this.
I did a DZ125 in the 0-6-0 Plymouth switcher but the pickups are lousy. It worked after a fashion.

DCC in locos not ready for DCC is not plug and play.
