We just bought the EZ Comand train set, and ordered 2 DCC #5 Turn outs, (Left & Right) The problem is we cant hook up track on the turn out side. The other switches we have are notched so that the track can be connected to both side of the switch. Did we buy the wrong ones?

There should be some scored areas (underneath) where you can remove part of the roadbed to connect track.
