Bachmann offers offset shank couplers in their spectrum line. I can find no description of what they are used for. Can you provide a brief description?
Thank You
Charley
If I am reading your question correctly, the offset shank couplers provided with Spectrum equipment are to allow you to change the coupler to properly line up with the lower coupling on the Big Hauler equipment. The Spectrum equipment have body mounted couplers where the Big Hauler line uses the truck (talgo) style couplers.
They are necessary to drop the height of the coupler on the Spectrum Shay to mate with the regular body mounted knuckle couplers.
