Title: F7 body shell
Post by: rickj13 on January 23, 2014, 01:20:55 PM
I would like to find out, if I order the new Great Northern F7 body shell, will it fit the locomotive I currently have? It is the Bachmann Plus series from the 90s (maybe) and it has the original Union Pacific body shell it came with. I never really ran it at the time, but it runs like new now on standard DC. I'm just not ready to go all in on a DCC conversion just yet and buy the GN F7 locomotive new. Thanks!

Hi rickj13,

According to Spookshow they can be swapped.

Good luck

Thanks, James! I don't know how spookshow never came up in the searches since my return to N scale and model railroading, but I have bookmarked it. My son is just getting started, so he should enjoy it, too.

I have put the PLUS shells onto both the SPECTRUM F unit chassis and the recent issue DCC equipped chassis.  The shells from the recent issue DCC equipped chassis will also go onto the SPECTRUM or PLUS chassis.
