Title: Question for the Bach Man
Post by: Elnovato on September 09, 2014, 03:07:15 PM
What is the minimum recommended radius for the Silver Series double-deck push pull commuter car (No. 13249 for example)? Have been searching all over with no luck. Thanks!

The minimum radius is 22 inches, if you can do 24 inches that would be even better. 18 inch radius is most likely going to cause problems.

Thanks a lot. Following up, what other similar passenger cars in your catalog fit an 18 inch radius (more modern ones)?'

I am not affiliated with Bachmann but replied since I could help. Looking at what is currently available in the online store, you can run the 860 - 1880 Era Passenger Cars, the Jackson Sharp cars, and the open-sided excursion cars with no trouble what so ever on 18 inch radius.
Passenger cars 85' or greater have a recommended minimum radius of 22 inches by Bachmann. The Amfleet, Full-Dome, and Commuter cars are all 85 or 89 feet long.
The older Heavyweight cars have a recommended a minimum radius of 22 inches as well, however the newer ones may be designed differently, but it is most likely still the same minimum radius.
