Title: parts availability for the new 2-8-4

Bachmann will the sound decoder in your new Berkshire 2-8-4 be available  as a separate part and if so can a person ( easily,no cutting and soldering)  replace the dual mode decoder in Bachmann's recent steam releases with this new decoder?

The new Bachmann N scale 2-8-4 will ONLY come with a DCC sound decoder.

The decoder will not be sold separately.

i have not seen the new sound decoder, I still doubt it will be a drop in, with a plug. Even if it were, the existing steamers wouldn't have the same plug. There are some pretty good tutorials, on putting sound in many steamers. Not knowing you, I can't prejudge your skill set, but learning to do the installations, for me, has been fun.
