Title: I don't get the reference on my new railcar

I bought a CN 4 bay cylindrical hopper demonstrator. Why is it a "demonstrator"?

If the "BLT" date in the data markings is 65 or 66 it would be a "Demonstrator" because it would be one of the earliest cylindrical hoppers built by ACF for Canadian National.

Railroad car and loco builds built demonstrators so the railroads could try them before buying them.  Joe

And considering how many cylindrical hoppers there are on the rails today, obviously the demonstration worked!  :D

Dear Geoff,
It was a one-of-a-kind car.
Have fun!
