Title: Turnouts - power routing
Post by: Jim426 on March 12, 2015, 08:58:57 AM
I recently purchased additional "DC" turnouts (44861 & 44862) for my layout.  They appear to be upgraded from the others I own.  I'm not sure, but I believe the part numbers are the same as my originals.  These new turnouts are not power routing, although they should be.  Both legs are powered from the heel all the time.  These are being used on parking rails and are powered from the heel only.  Inside the packages there are 4" x 4" pieces of paper indicating that "these switches are power routing".  Anyone else having this problem?  How do I restore these to original?

In closed Bachmann instruction notwithstanding, since around early 2012 Bachmann N-gauge turnouts are wired all routes live.

Make power routing -
Simple way -  add a manual switch, wiring and gap the rails to turn on/off power to the divergent route.

Much more involved,  rewire and locate (or make) parts needed to duplicate  the power routing ones you have.
