I have Bachmann's Ft-A and FT-B both with Dcc on-board and I am having a problem with the FT-B running faster than the A unit, causing the B unit to push the A unit and pull the train. After a while the B unit overheats and then shuts off. Is there a way to make the B unit run at the same speed as the A unit. I am using the Dynamis system.
Thanks,
William
After maintenance suggested by Bmannguy if there is still a speed issue then -
Assuming each locomotive has the factory installed Bachmann E-Z Command Two Function Decoder there is little you can do with the decoder to match the speed. But here is what you can try.
Assume you know how to program a decoder using Dynamis as not all details are listed.
Since the basic Dynaimis cannot read CVs
Place both locomotives on track and Program using Service Track mode
CV 2 to 0
CV 3 to 0
CV 4 to 0
This will change these three CVs values in both locomotives to 0.
Now with one locomotive on track at a time program each to a different address.
Exit programming and place both locomotives on track but do not couple them.
Select and run them to determine which is faster.
Using Program on Main Track increase CV 2 value in the slower locomotive by increments of 1 until its speed is close enough to the faster locomotive.
This not produce good enough results – replace the decoders in both locomotives with a decoder that supports user adjusted speed tables or contact Bachmann service and discuss your options.
