Title: Help...2-8-0 baldwin dcc decoder installation
Post by: Chesticus on November 04, 2007, 01:50:26 AM
I have an older Bachmann spectrum 2-8-0 Balwin. It is not dcc ready, and it does not have the pins, so it must be hard wired in. I need very detailed instructions on how to do this. The decoder I have is a bachmann decoder. Can anyone give me a source to go to to figure out how to put this thing in?

Thanks

Chesticus ;D

Are you sure it doesn't have a socket?  I have a very old one, and it has a socket.

Well I will look at it again but I did not see the 8 pin slot when I looked.

There is a dummy plug that you need to remove.  Remove it and plug in you decoder.  save the plug

Ha Ha Ha :D Remove the dummy plug and I am off to the races. As "Ed" used to say "you are correct Sir." Thank you so much. I was really a little frustrated. Again, thank you so much.
