Title: Sound for a 0-6-0 Porter HO
Post by: topito on July 09, 2015, 02:21:02 PM
Hi to all: I want to replace the original decoder of my Porter with a Tsunami 750.

Can I solder the Tsunami cables directly in the  Porter original PC board?

Could I have problems doing this?

Thanks

I just looked at the PC board with the Bachmann decoder and you should be able to unsolder one wire at a time. Match the colors. Use a fine point soldering iron.
Check the PC board for labels.
Last I knew, the Bachmann decoders had proper colors.
The LED resistor will be on the PC board.
If you hardwire, use a 1k, 1/4 watt resistor for the LED.
Be careful to not have any solder blobs between each terminal on the PC board. No idea of your expertise with soldering.
