Post by: sedfred on July 10, 2015, 09:03:13 PM
my 4-4-0 was not working properly so i  unpluged the dcc thing out (which has worked when this kinda thing happens) and and one of the wires came out of the two pin plug, it was soldered back in yet still does not work, it is less than a year old, can i send it to bachmann? how much will it cost?

Dear Sedfred,
Call service on Monday. They'll discuss your options.
Thanks!

Sedfred, I never again uncouple/unplug the engine from the tender, even to ship it somewhere.  Those little plugs are just too fragile.  I've made boxes to hold each coupled engine/tender packed in tightly ( you do uncouple the drawbar and put a styrofoam peanut between the cab and the tender) then pack it, or them, tightly into a shipping carton.

However I do save the original box for every model railroad item I have.  If and when you move, you'll be glad you find.
