In Holly Springs, MS, is an old railroad hotel that looks like it could be the prototype for the Pola railroad hotel once marketed by AHM and still available in HO and N under the Model Power name.
I think it once served an Illinois Central line.

Funny you should mention that. I've been to Holly Springs several times and seen that hotel. The old brick depot there is wonderful too.
Just down the street in Thunder Grove is my railroad hotel. It's an old Model Power Western Union building on which I took out a bunch of porch bracings, thinned down the railing pickets, and simplified some of the windows. Although the sign isn't up yet, everyone in town knows it is "Hattie's", immortalizing a dive back home that we 8th grade boys used to snicker over and wildly speculate about.
