Title: using ez command with dc powered track switches
Post by: kh25 on October 07, 2015, 07:04:06 PM
hello i currently have the ez command controller wired to the layout , i created my own walk around cable with it and once i get my sound equipped gp7 i'm swapping over to the ez dcc comand using the same cable, my question is im going to be using normal dc snap switches, am i able to use a dc pack to operate the switch machine or am i able to run the switch machine wires to the ac terminals on the ez command?
thanks

Since the DCC controller has no AC assy output,  hook up the DCC  to the track as instructed and just continue to use your current DC comand controller's AC accy output  to power the switch, just as you do currently.

Works fine.

Yes, you can use a DC pack to run the switch machines and use either the AC or the DC terminals to power the machines.  They don't care which type of voltage it is, just how much.  Don't top 19 volts going to the switch machine(s).
