What is the location of PIN #1 on the 8 pin socket on the board in the tender of a 4-8-2 lt Mtn, Part # 81601. Most boards have it marked, this one doesn't.. Thanks in advance...breezy8
I have some 8 pin sockets like that for experimenting. I plug in the decoder. If the loco runs in reverse, unplug and plug in the opposite way. To my knowledge, the NMRA came up with this so there is no damage to the decoder.

I think you'll find pin 8 marked on the center side of the socket. Pin 1 is directly opposite.

Might have to use a magnifying glass. Just a guess.

Does the tender board look like this? If so pin 1 is the upper right pin. On the photo, pin 8 is marked on the lower right . Pin 1 is opposite it. Joe

The Way NMRA 8 pin plugs are designed no damage will occur
