Title: power problem
Post by: mos2kfxd on December 03, 2015, 08:10:47 PM
After 40 years without trains I have bought a NEW starter train set (Super Chief).  Unfortunately, I can't get it to run.  Should the the red indicator light on power pack come on when plugged in? ... or only after track is hooked up to power pack. Mine has yet to light up.

The red indicator light on power pack should come on when plugged in.

Return entire set to the source where you purchased it for replacement.

Not intending to be a troll , but is this what I can expect from Bachmann products?  The trains I ran in the 70's (just a small set-up) were Bachmann.

If you have the N scale set  Click Here  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90YLMIhVDNc) to view Bachmann product video. Note the power pack light comes on when the speed control knob is turned to on.
