Title: trains? Babe magnet!!
Post by: r.cprmier on November 17, 2007, 07:25:08 PM
Hey!!  All you single guys.  I discovered that; besides my dog, I have another babe magnet.  It is called my trains.  Women love it!!!  They think it is great that (you) have so much talent- and brains too; not like other guys...the couch potatoes, etc.  I think it is a riot.  I showed one date how to run the throttle, and she had a ball for about two hours!  Never saw a real steamer, but loved the Bachmann Spectrum stuff-thought it is really cool.

What a wonderful world!!!

Rich

Well uh models, and women, both usually have cabooses...
But, well, I'm hoping the Th*m*s F*ns don't figure that one out...

Rich,

I wish my wife thought my train addiction was "great." It sounds like the date you had was a keeper. That's a good screening tool. My wife just thinks I'm a 30 yr old man who plays with toys. So far the only people that think my trains are cool are my three year old and one year old sons and my cub scouts. (I'm a Weblos leader)

Good luck buddy,

New Guy

I agree with Rich!  I took my girlfriend into a lhs and it didn't take her 30 minutes before she had her own set!  lol  She is a keeper!   Stephen

As Mae West would have said, "That's some throttle you have there, big boy."

Eons again it was, "Want to come up and see my etchings?"(I did say it was eons ago!) Now it's "Want to see my trains?"

Now that the word is out that Rod Stewart is into trains and structures for same some of the skepticism regarding our "toys" may evaporate.

Wouldn't that be "Want to come up and see my engines?"

At the risk is thowing water on a glowing thread:  Things change when girlfriends become wives.  Those cute trains become things that take you away from honey-do projects.  Then there is the issue of layout space traded for guest quarters or the laundry area.

Eventually we are told that "You have too many guns - you can only shoot one at a time."  "When are you getting rid of the motorcycle? - you haven't ridden it in ages."

Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't trade my wife for anything - and she tolerates my hobbies very well.  However - marriage is an ongoing series of compromises.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Robin

Yes, unless the kids like to touch the trains.

That is why I have several trains. I have the fat finger trains and the serious trains. Different kids, different skills. the nice thing about wives is when they break a train, they encourage you to go buy another, i just have to make sure Mrs Ta152h0 can't see the grin as I am walking out the door and get to go to the train store again.
