Title: drivelines for 80 ton shay

are the spare part drivelines for the 80 ton shay metal? or are they plastic?

The sideframes are metal.....come with shafts and gears installed.....you even get three new mounting screws for the sideframes and three new bolster screws to mount the trucks.

BTW.....the NWSL gear set for the Bachmann HO Shay is no longer available.

yes those are the ones.
so the gears in the driveline are metal? what about the gears in the trucks? is there a metal replacement available anywhere?

No the new pinion gears from Bachmann are still plastic, although a much improved design from the older ones.

What "gears in the trucks"? The crown gears cast into the wheels? Or are you getting Shay and Climax confused? Bachmann has new metal replacements for the Climax models.
