Title: DCC Cable
Post by: EBT17 on January 15, 2016, 07:53:23 PM
I have an MRC Prodigy express. The plastic clips on the ends have broken off, so the cables no longer stay in place.  Would a standard Cat5 cable work for this?

Call Model Rectifier or email them and ask.

I was asked about this many, many, times when my shop was still open, so I called MRC and asked.

The answer is yes, a standard CAT-5 cable with RJ-45 8-pin plugs will work just fine.

Thank you, Len. Now I just have to track one down.

I find Amazon to be the cheapest option for this kind of thing

Just about all the 'big box' stores carry them these days. Lowes, Home Depot, Target, Wallie-Mart, etc. Even a couple of the dollar stores around here have them.
