Title: running sound on dc layout
Post by: pops2828 on April 02, 2016, 10:47:31 AM
hello everybody,
so i've had a single track oval layout for years, set up in basic dc. i recently bought a bachmann spectrum steam loco with sound on-board. when running the train it chugs along with sound but i have no way of activating all the other sound features manually. is there a product or "controller" that will allow me to operate the whistle, bell, brakes, etc sound features without converting my simple dc layout to dcc? (somebody suggested "quantum engineer" controller but i'm not familiar with it and unsure if it will work with a bachmann loco)

thanks

The Quantum Engineer is aimed at locos with QSI decoders, e.g., Atlas, Proto, older BLI's. The MRC Tech 6 uses 'regular' DCC signalling, and works with all sound decoders.

Google   Soundbox 22-101-1 ...for another option.
