Title: Spectrum 2-10-0 rod problem
Post by: sedfred on September 13, 2016, 05:52:02 PM
I noticed that the reversing gear on the left side of my Decapod moves up and down whenever i run it despite the fact that the rod is meant to be static, this is not happening on the right reverser which stays in place like it's supposed to. Both rods are between a pair of brackets that i think are meant to hold them in place but something is causing the left rod to move independently. Other than that i have no problems with the locomotive, can somebody give me some advice?

You got the decapod, cool.  Put a video up if you can .

I have three decapods.  I've had problems with all three.

Motors no longer engage on two of them and the third, the most recent with onboard sound, has a broken wire inside the boiler.   All three will require stripping the loco down to repair, not an easy task on the 2-10-0.  The two with the motors no longer engaging were last strippped down about seven years ago for the same problem.

Nice looking loco and when they run they run well but the 2-10-0 has had problems since it was introduced.

Cheers

I'm in the process of getting three used ones for parts.
