Title: N Scale Switches – Radius Matches
Post by: douglas on October 22, 2016, 12:13:07 PM
Hey there. I'm planning a layout and have only a few switches, but two are located on curves. (And yes, I realize it's breaking a "rule" of trackplanning.) What radius is the curve of the standard switches (#44861 and #44862)? Bachmann has about five or six curves of different radii, and I'd like to match that of the switches if at all possible.

Even the big railroads install switches on curves when it is needed.

Oh yes, I know. The more important thing is, what is the radius of the standard N scale switch curves? Like how the standard HO turnouts are 18" radius. What's the N scale equivalent?

Hi douglas,

On the non-numbered turnouts it's 11.25r.
