My fellow Bachmann friends.
I purchased a NEW Bachmann
HO EMD E7 Burlington Route Locomotive
From a vendor that is DEFECTIVE. >:(
I am the first time owner purchased it retail
The Problem is the vendor does not have a replacement
I can swap out because they have sold out.
Vendor Recommended returning it to Bachmann since
Its NEW and I am 1st time owner of the locomotive.

The vendor was really trying to make things right. My only option is to send to Bachmann its NEW and still under warranty as I just purchased it new and retail. They just dont have the same model and will not be getting any new in.
QUESTION: What is Bachmann ability to swap out something like this with a new or repair? Even with the Pandemic are they Closed?
Are we looking at a really long wait?

Bachmann is closed because of the pandemic. I have a feeling they may be able to swap your loco. Also, what do you mean by "defective"?

The F5 Flashing Light No Longer flashes.
System Decoder Reset cycles through all systems test.
Top Nose Light does not come on during reset nor when F5 is pressed.

that is sad , best email Bachmann then they know and you are on their list for repairs/replacement , if model not available Bachmann should/may replace with similar priced model . You could be in for a long wait , so you should remind them later ?
I learned early on it's always good to have more than one engine.
Bachmann Support finally got back to me.
They replied:
"You can return now but we have to wait until at least June 4th when the governor allows us to we think when Phila. goes into the yellow phase."
Well at least thats something... I hope if they do not have the same model, I'm ok with them swapping the shell onto a frame with same DCC functionality.
Yeah, i agree with Trainman. I have a total of 25 locos, and i use only 9 of them. I think only 10 work though...
