Title: De Witt Clinton Couplers
Post by: pwmwilson on December 27, 2007, 02:44:28 PM
I really like the De Witt Clinton model even though it is probably not the high quality demanded by serious model railroaders. My biggest problem to date is the flimsy (if not chintzy) couplers on the passenger cars. Has anyone an idea how to modify these "eye and hook" couplers to make them more robust?

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I think you have to use a little imagination and somehow mount permanent knuckle couplers on them available from Walthers.  I have the Prussian 4-2-0 that is the same thing. They're pretty much for display anyway as the little motors quickly burn out. They have the same motor in them as the two little men on a handcar.
