My Bachmann Alco FA2 64703 (DCC & Sound) has locked front wheels. Its been running in consist with an FB2 for several years and performed well together but has recently locked the fronts wheels. I've cleaned, lubricated, checked wiring, reset defaults but haven't resolved the issue. Can somebody make a suggestion on what to check next? Thank you!
When you were cleaning and lubing, did you notice any signs of cracks in the gearing?
Odd that it should lock up only the front wheels. Almost sounds like a problem with the drive shaft. Is the drive shaft connected to both the motor and the worm? Is the coupling on the motor shaft slipping?
There are 3 gear wheels and no sign of any cracking or anything in the gears.
I'm currently checking the driveshaft status. Trying to put the shaft back into the motor . The attachment to the worm appears to be good.
