I was walking in the park earlier, along the railroad. A train had stopped and I saw a stroller on the ground facing the engine. And no mom. When I got closer I saw mom and the 2 yr old up in the engine with the engineer. Jackpot for the kid. When they got down I took their picture for them. You think that kid will be a railfan?
Nice story, thanks for sharing.
I wasn't aware they still did that. Many locomotives these days have inward facing cameras. It's nice to know a kid can still get a look see in the cab. It's probably something he'll remember the rest of his life.
I don't know much of anything about modern diesels but this was a single unit on a pretty short local transfer interchange move, maybe 20 cars, so it was probably a pretty old unit, no camera. I thought that the guy could lose his job over something like that if the wrong person saw him.
