Title: Need the plastic pins that hold the wheels on box cars.
Post by: rjanda on January 11, 2021, 08:22:20 PM
Have an older HO set and need the pins that hold the wheels on the box cars.
Not sure what they are called.
Don't care what they cost. I'll get a hand full for sure.

Those are called king pins. Your could always replace the ones you lost with self tapping screws.

I know nothing of cap rivets but that sounds like a good idea.  What size do you use?

I couldn't tell you...I took my two cars to the local hardware store where they actually keep things like this unpackaged in little bins and fitted them right there. Not sure if the pin is an universal item. Different manufacturers probably used different sizes.

I just did a search for cap rivets. I can see what he means, there are many different types. My local hardware store would have many. Now I know.

I searched too before I asked and saw that there are different sizes.
