This has probably been asked a thousand times here but I don't remember it. Please forgive me, because I am asking again.
I have several engines from which I wish to remove factory lettering. They are from different Bachmann eras so they might have different ways to get it done.
The consolidation (2008), the decapod (2008), and the USRA Pacific/mikado.
I know someone here has done this and has found the right liquid that will get the lettering off but won't affect the base paint, or at least not dissolve the plastic itself. Or if a dry abrasive is best, please discuss. I've heard Mr. Clean Magic Rub mentioned.
Please advise, thank you.
This technique works great on Bachmann locos, tenders and rolling stock as well as other manufacturers.

Thanks. Anyone else?
I haven't tried it on Bachmann, but denatured alcohol on a Q tip worked well on other models.
If you open the "search" box above, type "remove decals" and a bunch of threads will come up about removing decals. Some of them are specifically about removing them from Bachmann products.
It won't let me copy the link with the search parameters in it.
You can also just click on this link. It will ask you if you forgot to put something to search for. Type "remove decals" in the box.

I want to remove painted factory lettering, not decals.
Then you type in "remove lettering". There are threads about that too.
