Title: Diagram request
Post by: rosania5 on December 17, 2023, 10:26:04 PM
I have an old Chessie C&O 7071 engine that is not working, I bought it in parts and need a diagram to put it back together. I tried to add a picture.
it is a round motor with springs on top
thanks

It sounds like the old 'pancake' motor F9 that used the front truck for power pickup and the rear truck for the motor and drive. This is the Santa Fe version, but if the motor inside look like this, it's really not worth messing with. They didn't run that well and don't have much pulling power.

I just bought one of those off ebay. They are nice running engines once you yours back together. Best thing is, most of the parts are available from the parts store.
