Title: Vintage GP40
Post by: msulli007 on May 02, 2025, 02:19:56 PM
Hello - I have owned a Bachmann GP40 since around 1972 (Brass main & axel gears) - It's been a great locomotive and still functions. - What I am in need of, is a manual, to include an exploded view and parts diagram.

Any ideas?

This is about it for an exploded diagram of the old GP40:

If HO Seeker doesn't have the drawings (they don't) then they are going to be hard to find. But you can do the next best thing. Perform a partial disassembly of the locomotive, only as far as you feel comfortable with, and photograph it at each stage of the disassembly. That way, even without a parts diagram you will have a record of how things fit together.

Those original Bachmann drives were tanks. Too bad they went to the pancake motors for so many years.
