Title: No power to train - help
Post by: [email protected] on October 08, 2025, 11:33:53 AM
I just added more track to my lay out. When I went to start, the locomotive would not power up. When increasing the power, red light on the controller goes dim. I have checked all track connections. I also ran a voltage indicator over the track which showed power to the track. I don't have any extra accessories attached to the track. Is there something wrong with the locomotive. I am out of ideas. Any suggestions, would help. Thanks

apparently you have a short circuit. Can you post a drawing of how your track is laid out? I suspect that, not the locomotive, is the culprit.

Take the locomotive off of the track and then power up like when you did when the light went dim . If the light still goes dim just like with the engine on the track, the problem is the track.  Yes, a track plan would help. You may have added a reversing loop which creates a short circuit without additional attention.
