Good Morning! For Christmas this year, I received a beautiful Bachmann ACS-64 (Amtrak #668). I put it to work right away running 6-8 car Amfleet trains simulating protypical Northeast Corridor consists. Anyways, I noticed yesterday that the locomotive has developed a squeak during operation. It seems be more prevalent when going through a curve or just upon exit of a curve. I know that these locomotives require a little lubrication (I have some Labelle's oil that I apply to my older locomotives occasionally and my Amfleet cars often to keep them free rolling), but I generally have not done that to brand new locomotives. If it is a lubrication issue, any pointers on the disassembly/assembly of these units and location of prime lubrication points? The information included with the locomotive mainly dealt with the DCC functions and didn't dive into maintenance.
Other than this issue I really enjoy this locomotive. It's a smooth runner and will pull up to about 8-9 Amfleet cars on my level layout no problem. I think it sounds great (though my SC-44 Charger locomotive sounds slightly better) and it looks great!
