Title: battery conversion
Post by: paulie_g1 on July 29, 2026, 11:26:37 AM
I have three older G gauge trains I want to convert to battery power from 1992, 1994, 1995. Item numbers in order 90015, 90022, 90025. Does anyone have parts list and wiring diagram for these units? Also if you have converted an older G gauge do you have a parts list? I am thinking about using Soundtraxx is this good?

Thanks,

Paule

did you check first to see if the wiring diagrams are on the Bachmann site?

Hi Paule, Your locomotives are indeed very old, and parts to repair them are almost impossible to find and the online wiring diagrams on the Bachmann Site are for the newer versions.  I do not normally recommend conversions for them because they are either Version 2 or three chassis and the those drivetrains do not hold up if they are run very much. I recommend using only version 5 chassis or for more trouble free running after conversion.

Having said that well cared for older locomotives are converted successfully. Click on this link to a Youtube about converting and older loco similar to yours to Railpro.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-vsADKAMlo

There are other YouTube examples as well.  Hope this helps, Loco Bill
