How would you get DCC into a James model? Do they make a sound chip for him? Smoke?
Alex
You would have to hardwire a decoder. Work on your pinpoint soldering skills. You will have to permanently couple James, and run speaker wires to the tender. You may have to cut off some of the weight to fit the decoder in the loco.
I recommend getting a loksound decoder. You can then buy the loksound programmer, get a mic, and record the sounds of any of the engines, off Youtube, onto your computer, and then move them onto the decoder, via the programming unit. You can record voices as well to replace the bell function, and other functions.
Okay, thanks GG! :)

Don't install a smoke generator.
1: The smoke isn't realistic.
2: It covers your rails, scenery, and equipment with a layer of grimy oil.
Oh, thanks for the advise....was just about get one... :P

I can get you the sounds for a Loksound decoder. I am putting DCC sound into the Hornby James, and it's hard work!
Really? Thanks! ;D
