Title: GE 44 Ton - Sound & Body interchangability
Post by: Paul C. on March 03, 2008, 12:32:09 PM
Has anyone installed a sound decoder in an older 44 Ton, the one with two motors? If so what decoder did you use? There are a couple how to magazine articles about installing a non-sound decoder. Just wondering if anyone has done a sound one.

Are the body's from the 2 motor 44 Ton locomotives, interchangable with the new single motor units? Wondering about getting a single motor unit and putting the B&M body from my two motor one on it.

Someone from Germany has installed a loksound decoder in his 44 tonner... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Geob8ivh7U

Let me know how it works, If I repaint my NH 44 tonner into CCRR's 119 (B&Mesque paint) then I will probably be adding sound to complement my CCRR 105 with sound.
