I recently purchased the above and when I opened the box which was factory sealed it was covered in oil.   Is this normal?

Dear Steam,
Obviously not. However, as the "factory seal" is two pieces of scotch tape, it's possible that your loco was not new. In any event, contact the service department. They'll replace the loco with proof of purchase.
Have fun!

The H 16-44 is NOT a baby Trainmaster!  Baby Trainmasters rode on six-wheel trucks making them H 16-66.

The H 16-44 is simply one of FM's many road switcher models.
