Title: Improvements to EZ track
Post by: steveeusd on April 22, 2008, 07:58:46 PM
Dear Bach-Man

I read recently that some improvements have been made to your HO EZ track, such as, low-profile spike heads, clear tie spacing at the end of each section (can you elaborate, please?), and no more nail holes.  Are there any other things we can look for?

Thanks,

Steve Williams

P.S. Is the new EZ-Track book still on schedule for May?

Dear Steve,
I have now done three display layouts on foam bases, and the EZ Track has performed admirably. The spike heads are indeed unobtrusive, the end ties have a hollow for the rail joiner so they appear to be regular ties. Hot glue holds it down fine, as there are no nail holes.
As far as I know the book is still expected, but a book on the shelf is worth...
Have fun!

I use a product called Tentest which may be the same as your homasote. It holds the nails much better than foam. Where I have a difficult section I may go to a craft retailer and purchase some nails slightly bigger than the tie nails.Dab the nail heads with a touch of black paint and you will never see them.
