Title: Reverse loop?
Post by: T-Lloyd on April 24, 2008, 06:27:41 PM
Is there anyone way on a dc layout to make a reverse loop using ez-track?

Sure there is. EzTrack is no different than the track we've been using for years, it just has a built in base. As for the electrical wiring, you will need to gap the track at the terminus of the loop, have a separate power feed and a way to reverse the polarity. Google "wiring a reverse loop for dc" and you should get many options. As for specifics, I'll let someone with more experience on this board chime in.

Actually a more specific search phrase is "reverse loop wiring", or "wiring reverse loops".  Here is a unique way of wiring DC reverse loops with diodes instead of switches.

The NMRA site has a lot of information on basic wiring, including loops and wyes. Some call the latter a "triangle" which is perhaps more descriptive.

Search tip: Google gets nervous with words like  a, and, with, to, for, etc.  It responds best to simple nouns, adjectives, and conjugated verb forms.
