If a Spectrum diesel comes in the newer larger box but does not say DCC on board in the upper right corner, is it DCC ready or a regular DC

Dear Spike,
Your loco will say either "DCC  Ready" or "DCC Onboard".  If it says neither, it's an older loco. Please tell us what loco it is.
Thanks!

If it doesn't say DCC Ready or DCC Equipped or DCC OnBoard on the box then it's most likely standard DC. These can be converted to DC but the decoder will have to be completely hardwired.
