Title: 2-8-0 spectrun shell removing

 Can anybody instruct me on how to remove the top shell of a Bachmann   2-8-0 spectrum? thanks

Remove ONLY the drawbar screw. The other bottom screws hold the drive assembly together, and should not be removed unless you plan to work on the wipers, axles, bearings and drive gears, a rather delicate procedure. 

Then carefully pull the front pilot diagonal brace pins from holes in the boiler, just below the walkway.  Lift rear of the shell enough to clear the chassis, then slide shell forward to disengage from the front casting. Replace the shell by reversing the procedure.
