Title: 62995 PTC Streamline Trolley
Post by: TimVman on December 26, 2008, 03:58:49 PM
Hi:

I just received my new trolley and I am very please with the way it runs.  I have been breaking it in on an 11.5" radius.

I would like to put this into a city scenario; possible dual track to run both ways on the street.

What is the minimum cornering I could use?  11.5" radius in a city is going to give me unrealistically wide streets.

Maybe I should just run a straight line down the main road and use a hidden reversing loop?

Has anyone converted one of these to DCC?

Thanks

Tim

I've gotten it to run on a 4" radius curve with little difficulty (keeping the flextrack bent to 4" was the difficult part). 4-6" radius should be fine for N scale traction.

I am currently in the process of converting my trolleys (Brill/PCC) to DCC. It requires a bit of frame milling and the usual rules of decoder installation apply. It has been done before!

If you do more in N scale traction, you may find this group helpful as well:

Lt Jim

Thanks very much.  4" is good news!!  If you wouldn't mind posting any issues or cautions on converting these to DCC, I would really appreciate the info.

Thanks for the link.  I will join that group
