Title: Spectrum 2-10-0 Decapod
Post by: db22 on January 02, 2009, 08:21:47 PM
Just got one of these and DOA. Removed the tender and my Dynamis still immediately says "SHORT" with just the loco on the track.
Resistance across the wheels = 3.3 ohms - I can see why I'm out of current! My Diesel R = 144K ohms. So far I am not convinced that this loco was ever tested.
Anybody had the same problem with a new loco and, I suppose that I ship it back to Bachmann?

I had the same problem. Shipped it to bachmann in Philly and got a new loco within two weeks. I had even tried 2 different tenders. Still DOA. The new one works great.

I'll refer this to 9911A E5, he has a Russian Decapod from Bachmann, and it was sparking on the rear part of his layout, then the layout went dead! Would this be due from a possible short from the Decapod? We also think it may be a bad piece of Atlas Standard track on the rear, but I just wonder...
