Title: Roadbed with E-Z Track
Post by: NKP on January 12, 2009, 03:31:30 PM
Is it necessary or advisible to use cork or foam roadbed under E-Z Track to reduce road noise?

You could build a table with 1/2" ply & foamboard. Makes a lightweight frame to put the track on. Cork with the plastic track should not be necessary unless you want it higher than the branchline. Cork could mainly be used if you need to shim Atlas or Peco turnouts & track to the EZtrak.

What I'm thinking is, that by filling the hollow space under the plastic roadbed with foam roadbed, all the unwanted "track echo" noise will be eliminated.

The track is on plaster cloth covered foam risers.
