Having purchased a UP 0-6-0 steam locomotive (currently available) for my son to have fun because it said it smokes, how come it does not? How hot do those things have to get. Customer service (who were very helpful to me) told me to contact service and service said a few units take alot of time, others do not. So my question is how long do I have to wait until it smokes? I put the recommended level in, ran it around the layout for over 30 minutes and no smoke. Thank you.

It's possible that the smoke unit has burned out, in which case service will replace it.
