Title: Mounting the Command Station to the Bench
Post by: Old Jedi on February 19, 2009, 01:02:28 AM
I haven't seen this discussed before.  With the hand-held cab controller attached to the command station, it seems too easy to drag the command station off of the bench.  What is a good way to attach the base unit so it won't move around?

I think the easiest way is to use hook and loop (Velcro) strips, the kind with adhesive on back.  Holds securely, but station easily removed when needed. Also works for securing the hand held to side of layout in various places.

That's a good idea, Bob.  Thanks

Bob's idea is a good one.

Our garden railroad club uses the double sided to bundle our track we use at trains shows. Cut about 18 inches long we use one at each end of shorter track (2 ft or less) and one additional one in the middle of longer track.

We keep some of both types on hand and never run out of uses for it.

Glad you liked the idea. We use Velcro for all kinds of fastening jobs.
