Title: replacment gears for bachmans?
Post by: lmackattack on March 16, 2009, 11:42:24 PM
My mountain drive gear is stripped out. im looking for a metal replacement gear. I repowered it with a kato drive as I thought the stock motor was sluggish then I found that the gear was stripped out

If you cannot get the gear from Bachmann, NWSL is a possibility. I have done some re-gearing using the 72DP gears from NWSL for HO scale locomotives. Not the easiest site to look around in. I have their paper catalogs which are much easier to use.

There is documentation on gears also. Gear planning.

thanks rich.. I will look for that site. is there stuff any good? I have herd of them and saw a motor at the hobby shop but I went with a kato motor when I repowered my mountain. reason was fitment..I just put in the Kato motor and it was running nicely but I think the traction tire was to much for the gear?

thanks

NWSL has been around for quite a few years and sell quality products. I have bought motors and gears from them.

Glad to see you found something that works.
