Title: Bachmann Spectrum Dash 8-40CW decoder installation.
Post by: jwoj69 on April 08, 2009, 09:03:08 PM
I had found a very good step by step instructions on how to install decoder to Bachmann spectrum diesels. See:
http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/board/index.php/topic,7064.0.html
I did my Dash SD-45 no problems. I'm starting my Dash 8-40CW and i have notice that the resistor showed on beginning of installation is missing. It should be cut off.
is this resistor located somewhere else or it's no longer need it?
Please help

No longer needed.  I believe it was for RFI noise suppression.

You are life saver. I had couple mishaps, where decoder was destroyed (Conversion of none dc chassis). I did not want to loose another one.
Thanks again jack

You should get TCS decoders, they have a no quibble money back guarentee, and are virtually impossible to destroy - Ive blown up one of mine (smoke, melting, etc.) several times, and it still works perfectly.

I know sources in the UK, but i'd have to look for ones in the US - there will be loads, just a matter of looking.
