first train show. any advice or hints. on anything involved with it. time to get there, products etc. THANKS
1. if you tape/take photos of model trains, come back about 30+ minutes after you came(might have something different.)
2.have cash(credit cards and checks are rarely used/allowed)
3.look around to see if someone else has a product like another person to compare prices.
4.you might want to come early but not as soon as open. About 30 minutes after open. Most people will be ready.
5.Don't be afraid to ask what the price is if not readable(cant read, ask!) i got mixed up for steamer that looked like $25...it was $75! :o i got lucky.
6. HAVE FUN! These are not stressful in any way! ;)
Where is the place anyway?
thanks for the help
Jettrainfan is bang on with his advice. I would add a couple more gems:
- 1. Bring along some plastic bags (ala Walmart) to carry your treasures...in our booth we always provide a plastic bag; however most vendors don't,
- 2. Always do a walk-around of the show floor first to get a 'feeling' as to what is offered. If you find something you like, make a note of its location.
